sampler sketchbook
This series started as morning warmup drawings, inking out the shapes of musical equipment and documenting some music production techniques I was learning, like recording vinyl records to a vintage sampling keyboard. Alone in my creative space during the pandemic, I took the time to learn, practice and explore new skills. Many of my sketches became subject for digital drawings, animations and sequential art. In Spring 2022, I took a break from computer screens, exploring the same visual themes as I created these paintings. It’s been nice to rest my eyes and make a mess in the studio.
I love music and electronic instruments; I’ll always consider bartering art for your vintage synths and drum machines; seriously, what you got?
NOTE: I’ll add captions as time allows, with details and comments about process, etc.
